Uruguay Ducks - An Incredible Waterfowl Hunting Trip!
Uruguay duck hunting is one of the most popular Uruguay bird hunts offered by Los Gauchos Outfitters. It has the highest rate of repeat bookings, because the high-volume, and unspoiled shooting that it offers has no equal in the Uruguay bird hunting category. It is no longer a secret, Uruguay duck hunting has gone mainstream-at least in the international wingshooting crowd-with shooters who have been bird hunting in Mexico, Argentina, and Bolivia for many years ready to give these awe inspiring Uruguay bird hunts a try.

Uruguay Duck Hunting - Just come do it!
Waterfowl hunting in South America with Los Gauchos Outfitters has deep roots that can be traced back to goose hunting in Argentina many years ago. In 2003, we made our inaugural foray into Uruguay with one goal in mind: To become the premier Uruguay duck hunting outfitter within three years...
That goal proved to be unrealistic-we became number one in only two years! Los Gauchos Outfitters is the undisputed "Go-to" waterfowl hunting outfitter in Uruguay; but our success in this friendly little nation did not end there. We now operate several other hunting and fishing destinations here, which include: Uruguay dove hunting, Uruguay Perdiz hunting, and Uruguay pigeon hunting concessions.
Uruguay duck hunting with Los Gauchos has a focus on the ducks - huge variety and consistent shooting all season long. Many times we get asked - is there something besides ducks? Sure. In the northwest part of the country, dove hunting is high volume and good year round. An easy mix to the Uruguay duck hunting trip.
Out of the same lodge - Fortin Lodge - one can duck hunt and experience the Perdiz hunting during May - June - or July. Perdiz hunting is limited by a season and there is a limit on the number of Perdiz one can shoot during an Upland hunt. Currently the limit is 10 perdiz per hunter per day. Perdiz hunting usually takes place after a good morning duck hunt.
The Perdiz hunt is shared with setters or Brittanies that are trained for the Uruguay perdiz game bird. The Perdiz hunt is a small fee added to the Uruguay duck hunt, but ask anyone who has done it, well worth it.

Uruguay Bird Hunting Trips:
Uruguay Ducks
Why should you strongly consider making this your next international bird hunt? Here are a few reasons:
1. It is easy to get to Uruguay - fly to Montevideo direct on American Airlines.
2. Uruguay offers many shooting programs: Uruguay pigeon hunting, Uruguay dove hunting, and Perdiz hunting. One hunting license will cover your entire bird hunting trip.
3. Uruguay is, without a doubt, the safest and friendliest country in South America. Hunting has no resident hunting pressure, so Los Gauchos books the water fowl and wing-shooters each week to enjoy this South American countries game bird variety. Limits are liberal. Bag limits such as NONE for doves and extreme for ducks, makes the duck hunting and dove hunting tempting, huh?
There are many more reasons to go hunting in Uruguay, but those are some of the main ones. One of the most commonly asked questions that our clients ask about duck hunting in Uruguay is this:
Q: How far away is Uruguay from Buenos Aires, Argentina? I would like to spend a weekend in Buenos Aires either before, or after my Uruguay duck hunting trip. Is that a problem?
A: Not far! And no, it is not a problem at all. Over the last few years we have booked hundreds of bed-nights per year for our clients in Buenos at discounted rates at fine hotels like the Alvear Palace, the Hotel Intercontinental, and the Hilton at Puerto Madero.
A: It is easy to travel to Uruguay and enter Uruguay. The only documents currently required for entering Uruguay is a passport (US citizens). If you have a passport from a country other than the USA - please consult with the Uruguay embassy for the visa or passport requirements. American Airlines is currently the only airline that flies direct from Miami to Montevideo, Uruguay. This flight takes place 3 times per week and is about an 8 hour flight. The flight departs Miami (MIA) at 11 PM in the evening and arrives into Montevideo (MVD) at 9 AM the next morning. The time difference is not hard to get used to during duck hunting season. Uruguay is 1 hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Those traveling from the west coast are the hardest hit --but once you see the duck hunting and millions of doves in the sky, bird hunters tend to get their "2nd" wind.
A: Uruguay does offer a variety of shooting programs. Uruguay dove hunting and pigeon hunting is a year round sport. Los Gauchos provides Uruguay dove hunting trips in Colonia which makes it nice to travel to Colonia and enjoy the Uruguay beaches and summertime during January and February--of course shooting high volume doves for 3 days in the historic and quaint town of Colonia.
Uruguay duck hunting takes place fast and furiously during the Uruguay duck hunting season which is May 1st to September 1st. Los Gauchos Outfitters built its brand and company based on the love for waterfowl and duck hunting. Uruguay duck hunting brings back the good ole days of duck hunting and provides a high volume, consistent duck hunting trip. The Uruguay duck hunting club (formerly know as the Uruguay Duck Hunting Club) is one that provides the duck hunting adventure for dads, sons, grandfathers and good friends to enjoy the duck hunting sport and enjoy it like it used to be- no limits, no plugs, and regulations that provide safety but don't take away from the waterfowl sport of scouting and shooting a variety of ducks.
A: Uruguay safety. This gets asked by some, but Los Gauchos Outfitters has traveled the world and knows this should be a question of everyone coming to Uruguay for a duck hunting trip. Uruguay is the most peaceful country in South America and has the most literate of its population. The economy is such that most of Uruguay is middle if not high class and the crime is very low in Uruguay. Again, the only requirement for entering Uruguay is a valid current passport and a flight reservation on American Airlines from Miami to Montevideo.

Calling all Anglers and Hunters!
The other operations were key to providing the comprehensive hunting and fishing trips that our clients have been asking for-but without having to travel all over a country that is as large as Argentina. Across the river in Argentina, one must travel all over the country by air if they wish to take a wingshooting and fishing trip that offers the best of the following species: doves, ducks, Perdiz, pigeons, and golden dorado fishing.
In Uruguay, all of these venues can be combined in one single trip that can be done in one week-and all out of the same area! How is that for a great wingshooting and fishing destination? Anglers and hunters alike can now rejoice! Those who have always wanted to "Cast and Blast", but have not had the time or means to arrange multiple airline flights and/or air charters in order to get in position to make it happen can look no further; Los Gauchos has you covered-in Uruguay!
Dorado Fishing in Uruguay
Even though this site is about Uruguay ducks, those who like fishing should consider booking a Cast and Blast trip with us. The fishing can be combined with any species of bird hunting, and would encourage you to watch some of our videos of dorado fishing in Uruguay with ex-major leaguer Ryan Klesko, and one of the hottest songwriters in Nashville right now, Bobby Pinson.
The show is hosted by Capt. Robert Arrington, host of Reel Adventures, and it showcases some fantastic duck hunting in Uruguay, as well as the dorado fishing-so don't wait, join us at www.LosGauchos.TV and become part of the action!
